Our Story

In 1994, God used his people to start what is now St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sevierville, Tennessee. We celebrated our 20th Anniversary in 2014! Watch the 20th Anniversary video here:

Our church had its humble beginnings with a few families in 1994 at a small Wedding Chapel behind the Holiday Inn in Pigeon Forge. We later moved into a house in Pigeon Forge near what is now the new entrance to Dollywood, off McCarter Hollow Road. Our current church building on Pullen Road in Sevierville was finished in 1999. Since our start in 1994 we have grown to about 180 members.

Our serving Pastors:

  • Vicar Ralph Abernethy III (1994-1995)
  • Pastor Linsey Dettmer (1995-2007)
    • Pastor Dettmer continued to serve as "Associate Pastor" from 2007 to 2008 when he retired. Following his retirement, he remained a member of our congregation and continues to serve as "Pastor Emeritus"
  • Pastor Robert Portier (2007-2022)
  • Pastor Kent Dockery, vacancy pastor (2022 - 2023)
  • Pastor Seth Korte (2023 - present)
