Welcome to St. Paul!

Update as of April 3, 2020

Fear Not

2 Timothy 1:7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

We as Christians make our decisions not from a place of brashness of fear but from a place of peace and confidence in Christ.
Your leadership has decided to suspend all activity on site until May the 3rd.
This includes any and all activity on site including recording sessions of the services.
Your leadership will be meeting electronically later this month to assess any changes to this status.

We must acknowledge going forward some realities of our new normal.

Recorded services will be available on the days that they would typically happen. Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and mid week services will be available on FaceBook, You Tube & our Web Page. A mass email with a link to the service and an attached bulletin will be sent out when ready.

We do not know when we will begin gathering again, however when we do there will probably be some social distancing requirements still in place. That being said, later this month your leaders will be considering a schedule something like this; Saturday 8:30, 10:30, 12:30, Sunday 8:30, 10:30, 12:30, Monday 8:30, 10:30, 12:30, (for this schedule we may suspend mid-week services)

For the foreseeable future our services, when they restart, will probably be limited to 9 people. Gwen Cody our secretary would act (in essence) as our reservationist. We will announce the available time slots and people would call or email her to reserve one of the 9 slots in a service time. The following guidelines would keep us in compliance with all CDC recommendations as they stand now.

-give each other space (6 feet)
-sharing of the peace, suspended until further notice.
-pews and other surfaces will be given a quick wipe down between services.
-the sanctuary would be aired out for one hour between services.
-the offering & prayer request plate would remain in the back.
-the entry doors would be propped open, so no one need touch them.
-take your bulletin with you, no hymnals, no recycling bulletins

All services would be non-communion
It was a traditional practice to share the Lord’s supper after service in the early church. We will offer a short communion service immediately after the service is concluded. For those who wish to commune.

New communion practices

Sanitize between tables…5 per table
Place bread in hand without touching
Place individual cups farther apart
No common cup

Our pastor has become a staff of one on site

Any and all volunteer work is done from home

Our pastor is available 7 days/week for appointments between 10AM & 6PM

If you have any needs, concerns or ideas with regard to any of this please contact pastor or your elder or any of our council members. We serve in these offices for your benefit and can do a better job when you give them feed back on what we do and how we do it.

Welcome to St. Paul Lutheran Church, located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Sevierville, Tennessee. We are a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church (LCMS) proudly serving Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Pittman Center and Kodak in Sevier County in East Tennessee. We are "Blessed to Share the Blessing in the Smoky Mountains!"  Please take a few moments to explore our website and learn more about us.

nullI would also like to invite you to attend one of our next worship service. (see the service times above.) It would be my pleasure to get to know you and walk with you through Scripture and our confessional understanding of it. The life of our church is Gods people gathered around Gods gifts of Word and Sacrament. We would love to have an oppertunity to share these things with you.
